Foxes and Feathers

 It was absolutely freezing outside today, not suprising considing there is only one more day until winter!
It's a bittersweet feeling. I much prefer warmer weather.. but it's the cold, wintery days that are best for sitting inside with the heating stoaked up and a hot cup of tea whilst creating some watercolour pieces :)

Recently two of my favourite things to draw and paint are the fantastic orange fox (the English fox rather than our mangey Aussie foxes) and beautiful birds and their feathers. I think these subjects can be reflected so well using water colour.
Below are some of the paintings I did today and over the past month or so.

Water colour portraits

Playing around with different approach to portraits - a loose and slightly quirky style.
Created using water colour paints and a black fine liner pen.

Welcome to my new blog/website!

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing well! Thanks so much for checking out my new site, I'm very excited to have it up and running :) and I hope you like the new approach I have taken!

A lot of you may know me as Equine Pastels through Equine sites, events, or Facebook.
After much thought, I have decided to take a new direction with not only my website and business title but also with my artwork. To read about why I have chosen to do so, visit the About Me page!

Firstly, if you are a fan of my realistic pastel portraits please keep in mind that just because I have changed my site and name from Equine Pastels to Larelle Sharee - Art and Illustration, doesn't mean I will not continue to take commissions for pastel portraits! :) This is something I have thoroughly enjoyed for years and I hope to persue in creating these pastel pieces for many more. So please, keep 'em coming!

Three reasons I have chosen to created a blog site;

1. I really enjoy discovering and following the blogs of other interesting people - especially artists and illustrators. You get to know the artist on a more personal level and the understand how they think!
2. Unlike my old website, (which is now very out dated!) this site is a quick and easy way to not only upload all my new artwork but to keep anyone that is interested updated on works in progress, upcoming events/exhibitions, blogs that I'm loving at the moment, time lapse videos of me creating an artwork, new arty products I have found and anything else I find inspiring or relevent to share!
3. A blog is a great way to branch out and interact with other bloggers and appreciators of art and illustrators :)

I plan to soon attach a link to my store where you can easily purchase original artworks for reasonable prices and for those of you that may not use facebook, I will also have some gallery pages soon too :)

Please stay tuned and I will have some recent works posted for you soon!
